Yellow leaves of red mangrove are nearing the point of abscission, when the tree will drop them onto the surface of the water below. Leaves on the tree do not contain mycelia of marine oomycotes, but very soon after falling, propagules (zoospores?, zoospore cysts?) find or bump into the leaves, and send mycelia into them.
